Jack has been crying the entire time he is in the nursery during church. Not just a little sniffle, I have been told it is a mad, loud cry for the entire hour. So Marshall and I decided to send blankie with him to the nursery to see if it would help. Sure enough, it did! He cried when we first dropped him off and then was great the rest of the time. What a relief. When we picked him up I watched as the sweet Nursery Worker put blankie in the diaper bag and we were headed home for nap time. On the way to the car my sweet husband stopped to pull some weeds out of the church flowerbed. He is a nut about that kind of thing. I find it a little annoying sometimes but our yard is BEAUTIFUL so I don't say anything :).
We get home and put Jack in his bed and I ask Marshall for the blankie. He says it is not in the diaper bag so I go out to the car to find it. Blankie is not in the car and nowhere to be found. Jackson is getting a little irritated at this point because he is in his bed and there is no blankie. I tell Marshall to rub his back or rock him and I will run back up to the church to look for the blanket. I get there and look under cars, look in multiple rooms in the nursery. No blankie. As I am about to leave, I run into our great AUNT KELLY! I tell her what is going on and she takes me to the front desk and looks in a cabinet. There, folded perfectly is THE BLANKIE! I jump up and down, I hug Kelly, I am shaking I'm so excited. I'm pretty sure she thought I was crazy but acted like I was completely normal.
Meanwhile back at the house Jackson is completely outraged. He is screaming and Marshall is trying anything and everything to calm him down. Including giving him....a bottle. Jackson hasn't had a bottle in months.....months. Poor Marsh...I appreciate the effort.
Turns out when Marshall had stopped to pull the weeds at church, blankie fell out and someone turned it in to the lost and found. Currently we are in the process of trying to find a back-up blankie. Pappy is emailing with the creator of the "Silky!" blanket to see if we can get an exact match. Thank you Pappy! Drama done.
The Blankie

and blankies are very hard to replace.
that is funny. We had to get two of the same blanket because the one was ripping. She is six and still has both blanket, so much for trading them out when one is dirty. I think I have sewn it up a million times already! If you find fabric at Joanns or something or online, I can make one you just have to mail it to me.

I know how that goes...Claire has a blanket that looks like an owl that we call "Owlie". I recently bought another one so we would have backup just in case something like this happened. So glad Jackson got his blankie back!
We have two back up blankies for Mason. It is a must! Good luck finding another one.
Oh my Leah, love this post!!! Smiley's grandchildren spent the weekend with mom and Smiley and even though the girls are 10 and 7, they BOTH had their blankies AND animals. Sasha has a bear and blankie and Grace, a bunny and blankie. Both will NOT fall alseep without either. Good luck with finding a replacement.
Also, I think even Jill still has hers. It is a yellow, COMPLETELY mangled, blanket that can't even be washed, in fear that it might fall apart. I think Jarod put his foot down when they got married on leaving the blankie OUT of the bed.
